Bits and pieces

:: So, this is the coolest thing I've ever heard, people.  Can you imagine raves in Stonehenge? Wicked! and with Trance nonetheless!

:: Gary got married AGAIN.  This is kind of shocking to tell you the truth. He's been married so many times that you actually wonder why on earth would he willingly tie the knot once again...Anyway, if he's happy, I'm happy.  Good luck, Gary!

:: WHAT?! Seriously. First the delay and now this?! No closure at all?...I know it actually ended with the last book, but what about the DVD collectors?...and my mom?! ¬¬  Not cool, not cool at all.

House M.D.

I finally had time to check the last two episodes of House M.D. and I've just LMAO watching  House and Cuddy flirting like little kids in Pre-K, pissing each other off and then doing nice anonymous things afterwards....

AWWWWWW

I heart Gregory House, had I mentioned that?

....It's such a pity Cuddy got to see him with that other chick at the end of that episode, though.

Reasons to be happy

Because I need this to keep me going until 2009...

1. X-men Origins: Wolverine.  Why? DUH! because it's the X-men! ...and Wolverine is hot and Hugh Jackman makes him even hotter and Taylor Kitsch plays Gambit and *sigh* the movie is going to be one big orgasm from the beginning till the end.

2. Gary Oldman pics from "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" premiere in LA.  He's still hot and he looks happy and I love the hair.

3. Knowing lots my Christmas cards have arrived safely and made people happy. I know they are no pieces of fine art but I really hope you like them.

4. Radiohead and Keane concerts in Chile. ...and concerts in general.  There are loads of upcoming concerts I'm looking forward to.  It's nice to have bands you like coming to your far corner of the world.

5. Feeling attractive for the first time in years.  Yup. I always felt to awkward and too misfit to think of myself as attractive, but I've been feeling much confident recently, which is odd considering I've never been more stressed and exhausted than I do now.

6. My friends. Real and online.  [info]anikirra  with her fan requests on Facebook, [info]mellafe  and her daily e-mails, [info]verogeller  for Damien Rice, [info]aetenae , [info]lmaluenda , [info]chascobal , [info]t_w_a_drummer ,[info]jo_ron , [info]sadoptimistic , [info]magnio  and the rest of my flist for existing and posting and make me happy daily *hugs*

7. Facebook.  One message is enough to brighten my day. :)  Thanks for yours Sole, Mimí, the Sushilights gang, Max, Edo, Paulita, Edgardo, Gloria, Maricella, Betty, Elan, Jenn, Jessica, Julia and the rest of you guys. You keep me grounded.

8. Christmas.  Just because.  I love the presents and the Christmas trees and the cards and the joy.

9. Fanfiction. My escape from reality when everything becomes too much to handle.

10. 2009.  Oh, the possibilities! New people to meet, new places to go, new challenges....:)

Tim Riggins, Madonna, 4,000 USD and other bits

:: Friday Night Lights stole my soul.  I had no clue what american football was about, but I learned a lot watching the show and it's all Tim Riggins fault *lol*.  Oh man, the guy is hot and honest and loyal and misunderstood and he sort of reminded me of Sirius Black.  The episodes where he lived with the Taylors were awesome, because then I realized he was just desperate to be part of a family, to belong somewhere, and I almost cried after the coach kicked him out after that ridiculous incident with Julie, the coaches daughter. Tim and Julie where so brother and sister I kind of thought It would be great if the writers had him there a bit longer, but *sigh* nothing can be perfect in Tim's world, despite his best efforts.  I really hope this season he manages to make it somewhere and get the family he so desperately needs with Layla.

:: Wednesday down here was all about Madonna's concert.  Why such a fuss?, you may wonder...well, she had never been in Chile and we had been wanting to see her for such a loooong time some people even quit their jobs to go.  I asked for a day off at work and I went with my ridiculously expensive ticket to the stadium.  Despite the heat and the crowd and the kicking and squeezing and the sweat, I manage to actually see her really up close.  The show was amazing.  The woman really knows how to sing and dance.  Here are some pics.

Give it to me! )

:: Yesterday was madness at the office.  I had so much work to do I wanted to cry.  So I was there, typing letters like mad when I received a call from the bank asking me whether I've done a transaction for 4,000 USD.  O_o  I thought WTF?! I'd never spent that much money in my life.  I told the girl I hadn't and she seemed relieved and said then I shouldn't worry about it, but I still am.  I'm planning to call the bank on Monday to ask about it, because there's no way I'll be able to pay that amount of money, specially in the middle of an economic crisis.

:: Other things that have made me happy recently:
-PJ Harvey's new album with John Parrish
-Founding out [info]vnfan  shares birthday with Charlie Weasley! how cool is that! (Happy belated birthday, girl! I hope you had fun!)

News that made me happy today

The Buffy issue 20 MTV preview.
Buffy goes back to school! :D (Joss, I heart you.  Really.)

Dec. 1st, 2008

Surprise!

:: I'm having a maxillary surgery at some point next year.  My orthodoncist told me it was the best thing to solve my problem and I'm scared.  This is most likely going to change my face, so what if i'm not able to recognize myself afterwards? What would the new Paula look like?  I've never ever had a surgery in my life (I even refused the offering of a bypass surgery to end my obesity and chose to diet and exercise in order to avoid spending time at the hospital)  What would this be like?

:: Things at work have finally become unstressful and I couldn't be happier.  I'm so not the person to be around when working under pressure.

:: This weekend, I finally went back to Molina, my home town, after months of procrastination and I had a great time.  It was my first cousin once removed's first communion, so we all went there.

Diana and Dolly )
Diana (My first cousin once removed) and my cousin, Dolly

We had a great time.  After the mass, we all gathered in Dolly's house to celebrate.  Ever since we all moved away, oportunities to gather all the family have been scarced, so it was really nice to spend some time with all of my cousins and relatives.  I'm really looking forward to Christmas now, so we can all meet again. :)  You can check some more pics here.

:: After finally managing to manufacture all the christmas cards, I'm proud to announce they'll be sent tomorrow.  I'm hoping they get on time to your side of the world and you all like them. :)

*Hugs*

Foolish games

:: Today I finally got everything I needed to make the christmas cards I'll send.  I got everything: feathers, stars, sequins and shiny pencils. Now I just need time to start making them, which I'll hopefully have this weekend. Wish me luck! :)

:: Last weekend I started reading Life of Hunger by Amélie Nothomb, which has become my favorite book of 2008.  Nothomb seems to have the same motivation in life as I do: Hunger, hunger of food, hunger of knowledge, hunger of equality, hunger of life.  I've always said if I had to choose one sin to define me it would be gluttony and this woman gets it.

:: I'm seeing a show called TV or not TV, which deals with the history of television in Chile and there was a short piece with one of my favorite performers of all time: Rafaella Carrá, an italian singer who was extremely popular down here in the 80's.  She was the coolest ever.  She wore sequin filled dresses and had gorgeous backup dancers.  Way better than Madonna, people. Check her out!
